MD3 Software

The MD3 software enables users to explore various features of the MD3 product. The software and drivers have been designed and tested to only work on Windows 10 and 11.

This Windows installer contains the following:

MD3 Setup Program, version 1.0.16 – Presents a simplified interface for configuring the MD3 to operate similarly to US Digital’s previous MD2S-D and MD2S-P products.
MD3 Demo Program, version 1.0.32 – Provides access to MD3 configuration, motion-control, status, and diagnostic features.
MD3 User Guide – Provides detailed information about the MD3 Microstepping Motor Driver and instructions for setting up and operating the supplied applications.
USDigitalLibrary.chm – Compiled help describing the .NET classes provided by USDigital.dll and USDMD3.dll.
USDigital.dll, version 1.1.1.1 – The supporting managed US Digital device library.
USDMD3.dll, version 1.0.1.0 – The managed .NET interface for communicating with and controlling an MD3.
MD3 latest firmware, version 6.0.0 – The latest MD3 firmware image supplied with the software package.
MD3CSharpConsoleDemo, version 1.0.1 – A C# example using USDMD3.dll and USDigital.dll to select a COM port, open communication, configure motor current, current cutback, microstepping, speed and acceleration, move in both directions, and read device status.
MD3CppConsoleDemo, version 1.0.1.0 – A fully native C++ example using the exported MD3Lib DLL API. This example does not require .NET and is provided for both Win32 and x64.
MD3CppCliConsoleDemo, version 1.0.1.0 – A C++/CLI example using USDMD3.dll and USDigital.dll. It performs the same basic operations as the C# and native C++ examples and is provided for both Win32 and x64.
MD3CommandDemo, version 1.0.1.0 – A native C++ command-line utility using MD3Lib to access additional MD3 commands and functionality. Win32 and x64 versions are included.
MD3Lib, version 1.0.0.0 – A fully native C++ MD3 library that does not require .NET. The installer includes MD3Lib.h and Win32 and x64 versions of MD3Lib.dll and MD3Lib.lib. MD3Lib source code is not included.
MD3Wrapper, version 1.0.0.0 – The legacy C++/CLI wrapper retained for compatibility with existing customer applications. New native C++ applications should use MD3Lib.
