What is the material of the encoder module housing?
For the EM1 transmissive optical
encoder module, the material is Ryton R-4, a polyphenylene sulfide which
contains 40% glass fiber.
What is the encoder module lens made of?
The lens is polycarbonate.
What are the encoder disks made of?
Encoder disks are made of Mylar (.007" thick). The disks are durable, can be handled without damage, can be easily cleaned, and are virtually unbreakable. They can be bent almost in half and will spring back as long as they have not been creased. They are stable over time and temperature and support high-resolution patterns.
US Digital designs and manufactures incremental and absolute optical encoders, inclinometers and other precision motion control components used in a variety of applications including solar thermal, industrial automation, medical, robotics and more.
