Non-European Union Compliancy Policy:
When RoHS compliant products are required, the following statement must be noted on each purchase order: "RoHS parts required." If there is more than one line item on the purchase order, please specify which items must be RoHS compliant. To request RoHS compliant products using US Digital's Fax Order Form please mark the box next to each line item. If RoHS compliancy is required but not specified, products may or may not be compliant.
Brief Overview:
The European Union community has eliminated the usage of 6 hazardous substances found within electronics effective July 1, 2006. The Restriction on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) prohibits lead, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, mercury, polybrominated biphenyl (PBBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDEs). The current draft of the definition of "lead free" by RoHS indicates a maximum concentration value of 0.1% by weight in homogenous material for lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, PBBs and PBDEs. A maximum concentration value of only 0.01% by weight in homogenous cadmium will be tolerated.
