Vancouver, WA - US Digital is proud to announce the release of our next generation encoder cable drivers. US Digital's encoder adapters cut down on noise, false triggering, and allow the use of much longer cables. The TTL outputs of our incremental encoders can sink (pull down) just under 4mA and source (pull up) just under 200 uA. This is not always adequate. For long cables (6 to 1000 feet) or noisy environments, these adapter boards will provide additional drive and reduce noise. The EA-D10 and EA-D5 drivers use an industry standard 26C31 driver chip. The EA-D10HV and EA-D5HV use the ET7272 driver chip. An on-board 0.1 uF bypass capacitor across the power pins on each of these adapters compensates for inductance and noise, which can be expected at the end of a long cable.
The EA-D5 is a single-ended cable driver which receives a 5-pin input from any of
our single-ended TTL level outputting incremental encoders. The EA-D5HV is the same as the EA-D5 but allows 5V encoders to be used in high voltage (9.5 to 32VDC) applications.
The EA-D10 is a differential RS-422 cable driver which receives a 5-pin input from
any of our incremental encoders. An optional cable can be permanently
attached onto the adapter which will allow the EA to be plugged directly into an encoder inline of the cable. The EA-D10HV is the same as the EA-D10 but allows 5V encoders to be used in high voltage (9.5 to 32VDC) applications.
They are available from stock with little or no lead-time. Technical specs and pricing are available here.
